Possibly cold-shoulder from friends?

Roommates and cousins are pretty much the same story . . . you made the best of a situation of being put together, but if you were perfect strangers who met, would you develop a friendship? My gut tells me you really have less in common with these people than you think and neither of them are the type who keep up with people who are not in their close circle of friends.
