What does this spooky dream mean?

Last night I dreamed it was Christmas time at the old farmhouse, my childhood home. Our family had two small dogs, and the cat that I have now was there too. The animals got outside because the front door was open, and I heard a lot of barking so I went outside to see what was going on. A huge dog that looked half german shepard and half wolf trotted by, stopped to investigate, and then trotted off again. Then another dog trotted past in the same direction, then a man followed walking, but he didn't stop or say anything. The light was so dim I couldn't see his face. He appeared to be all of shadow. Another shadow man followed. I said, "uh what are you doing, just cutting through?" but he didn't acknowledge me, just kept walking. I was getting anxious about what they were doing on our property. They would have climbed over the fence near where the creek crosses the road, walked around the house in a clockwise direction and back down to the road again.
