How do you turn off the inbuilt speaker on a House of Digital mp4. model no: HM4-002?

Video is converted to SMV format. The sound comes out of loud speaker for radio, video and mp3, wma, wav etc. (the earphones are plugged in and have tried 3 pairs to no avail)
