Which car as the best fuel economy?

Looking to buy a car whit good fuel economy. It between the ford fusions and honda civic. They both look ok. There are both 08 and price is 500$ more for the honda plus the honda as around 1100mile more. We surf the net and getting alot of this one and that one. Oh they are both 4 cyl
