Foods to serve at a Kids BDay Party?

I am having a birthday party for my 5 year old daughter and 1 year old son. What are some good foods that I can serve (its a halloween party) I dont want anything gruesome, like the string cheese that looks like fingers and stuff. That is too much for the little kids. Ok listen carefully... I have been in your exact position for the last 15 years! My son is 15 I filed for child support after a few years of his deadbet dad not paying and he still go out of it, just like you said paying only when he was going to go to jail. I would call ever week and they would tell me the same thing, call back and they will send a letter and blah blah blah. Eventually they will take his liscence away but he will make a payment and get out of it. I just received a payment this month. The first one in probably 3 years. My point is the system is a VERY VERY slow process. If they want to get out of it they will find a way. They will get a job and then when they get the garnishment paperwork just quit and go get another job. This can go on forever without the courts ever really going after them. It will take years for them to go through all the loops and all the chances they will give him before he gets backed up against a wall and has to pay! The only way to by p this is to hire an attorney and it sounds like we are in the same boat on that one ... $$$$. My suggestion is to not let him see the child, he will be in and out of its life and it will end up hurting the child more than helping her. My son is 15 now and he finally has realized what a loser his dad is and has no real interest in seeing him. I am remarried and my husband loves my son like his own and I am so greatful for that. My advice for you is to look forward not backward. If you chose the wrong guy for your babies dad its ok. Move on. Do your best and do not stress about the child support. Find help elsewhere. Stressing about it will only lead to you having to call him and ask him for money and ask him when hes gonna pay and all that..its a vicious circle. Move on, find a nice man to help you raise your baby. Finish school and find help n the community and with your family. You will make it! You can do anything! Your a mamma! Good Luck!

Painting over wallpaper?

Anyone have personal experience with painting over wallpaper?? We are considering doing it in our dining room. We borrowed a steamer off of a friend and even with doing that and scoring up the wall the wallpaper isn't coming off easily and it's leaving wallpaper pieces on our wood trim. That and the plaster under the wallpaper is in pretty rough condition. I've been researching the ways to paint over it so we're going to primer, drywall patch then paint. Why, on freeway overp construction, are pieces of whiteboard clamped to the uprights facing traffic?

On my morning commute, I drive through freeway construction where an overp is being built. On either side of the freeway, attached to the upright steel reinforcements, are pieces of white drywall. There are even relatively low-wattage lamps illuminating these temporary-looking panels. There are no pieces on the sides where we would see them in our rearview mirrors, and no other panels of drywall. The traffic in the opposite direction has the same setup. I have to think it was done on purpose. Why are these panels there?

Quite frankly I didn't look too hard as such "unimportant details" are usually not published by car audio manufacturers. The Dayton will work, and with that port it will be + 7dB at 60 Hz and have an F3 of 40 Hz. A closed box will give you a flatter response with the same F3.

I don't know what to do about my dog! Help?

My husband and I have a 8 month old Great Dane and he is beautiful and sweet but he is the biggest little turd and we are at our breaking point. He is creat trained and did well until we moved him into his big kennel and he is peeing and pooping every night now , and I will wake up at 2 am to take him out and doesn't matter so I'm giving an 80lbs dog a bath every morning, he pees on me when people come over, fights me to get in his kennel at night. He will just lay down and not budge and I will have to try and pick him up. I feel so bad because my husband is pretty much done and wants to give him away and I'm trying so hard but I dont think I can take much more. I wanted a trainer and my husband said we've already spent so much money on this dog ( which is very true) Any advice? I have never ever heard of a dog acting this way.

What type of lizard should i get..experienced keeper, but new to lizards?

im looking at purchasing a lizard. im not a rookie when it comes to tanks, lighting, heating, humidity, different animal breeds but i always like other opinions. i currently have a 30gallon gl tank, two t5 ho lights, a flourescent light(which im getting a red bulb for nightime viewing), a lamp that can be used for a CHE or regular bulbs(which i currently have an infrared heat bulb), humidity and temp gauges so most my basics are covered..im somewhat of a plant guru so i decided to add various forms of live cacti and rock to create a vivarium..this isnt a substrate question, ive researched whats harmful and what is not to reptiles soil-wise so please no comments about substrate, im covered as good as im gonna be on that area..now for the question...ive ran my setup to get an idea of how my humidity and temp are during the day/night..my basking side is a temperature of no more than 93 degrees max with my lights and heater on during day. the humidity is usually between 45-65...im not interested in leopard geckos and to be honest i like exotic whenever possible, what would be the best lizard to get for my setup..serious replys only please, out of all my research im still stumped on this issue..

can anyone give me their ULTIMATE soondubu recipe? I don't eat fish or any other type of meat. I have tried all types of ingredients across the past few years - from denjang paste to the korean chili powder to vegetarian broth to all of those combined all with mushrooms (the way maangchi on youtube makes it). He definitely should have a vet. check-up and get started on his shots but before you go to the expense have the vet. scan him to see if he has an identification microchip. No collar doesn't mean he was dumped. Puppies can squeeze thru very small spaces. Check shelters to see if anyone reported him missing , check lost/found section of paper and watch for lost/found posters in your neighborhood. This is only fair for owners that might be frantic looking for the puppy. When you have gone thru all the above with no response then I guess you have a new family member.

Ok, so it was rainy and I was on my way to work. I had to slam my brakes because there was a woman who stopped in the middle of the road. She didn't have hazard lights or brakes lights on. I clipped her on the corner left bumper. In front of her vehicle was a man who had hazard lights on. When I asked her what was going on, she said he ran out of gas. We called the police, he gave me a ticket for following to close and driving on a suspended license. Now I received a driving on suspended license before but it was dropped because I was able to show proff of my license before the court date. The same for this situation, the next day I went to DMV to reinstate my license and I was able too. My questions are my court date is July 16th, Im expecting a child July 11th. Im afraid that they will actually give me jail time. I also want to know, based on my situation, is there a way to get out of the following to close? I wasn't even en-route with this woman.Thank you

So I cam home from a christmas party last night and jumped right in bed, haphazardly putting my ipod on the headboard behind me. Completely unaware of what I was doing, I dropped my ipod in a half-full gl of water. It was only submerged screen end down up to about the top of the wheel. A new cello bow?

Well i have these two cello bows...I have used one for a very long time and the other one is brand new which i got with my brand new cello. My used one is a very expensvie one so it sounds very nice and it's smooth. I used it for a very long time so it became the time to change the bow hair. But my parents say use the new one and then when the new one's run out, i can change the old one into new hair. You see, it takes...I don't know...$70 to change bow hair? And we're not that rich so i don't know what to do becasue i'm not used to the new bow...it's so scratchy although i put lots of rosin.....do i have to get used to it or something or is it just a bad bow and should i just stick with my old good bow and somehow get new bow hair?...??????????????

Parvo and a new puppy. Any suggestions?

Hello all. I have somewhat of a tricky situation. I found out that the previous owners of our home had a dog that died of Parvo back in November. Everything has been bleached down with a bleach/water mixture. My puppy is 8.5 weeks old and had her first vaccine at 5.5 weeks. We just brought her home two days ago. What I would like to know is if it is safe to continue to give her the vaccine, she is due for her second one this week. Although everything has been thoroughly cleaned, inside and out, I worry that if I give her the vaccine she may contract Parvo if it lingers anywhere around the premises. We do not plan to take her out anywhere until we find out if she's got an immunity. I have a 6ft block wall around my yard, and it too has been bleached down. Does anyone know of any preventative (somewhat affordable) measures I can take? I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Question about tax deductions?

Hi. This is a pretty basic question, sorry. But I'm 18 and it's the first time I've had to worry about tax returns/extensions. I am not claimed as a dependent by anyone. I know that a deduction doesn't function the same way as a credit. But does a deduction reduce the amount of my income that is taxable, or is it only used to determine which tax bracket you fall into? I am a full time college student, and I received $5000 in 2006 from a small trust fund. Given that the standard deduction is $5150, and the personal exemption is like $3300, I owe nothing, right? Is this true for the California state taxes also? Also, if I don't owe, then I don't need to file, do I? I ume I'm not getting a refund if I never actually paid anything. Could someone let me know if I'm right about all this? I thought I didn't need to file, but then someone told me otherwise, so I'm kind of panicking. I need to do an extension really quick if I was wrong. Thanks!

Being in an English Honors cl makes me feel inadequate?

I don't know, I'm usually good in English. I have a college reading level since I was in eight or seventh grade. I guess I have never been challenged at this level before. But everytime I get a test paper back or a my homework, especially homework that is based on how well it was written and how well you responded to the question. Discussions on the novels we are reading makes me feel even worse. I hate public speaking and I get nervous as hell. Even when I'm not so nervous I feel like my resposne isn't as good as the others are. What really got to me is when on my last essay my teacher wrote that writing isn't my strong point. Though she did say it can get improve it still really got to me. I love to write, it's something I wanted to do as a hobby. Though my teacher is being really nice. Like on one of my questions I answered prior to our last discussion she wrote a comment saying that it was a good ysis and I should speak up more and made a smiley face, which she seems to do a lot lol. And she has done it before comment on something I wrote good. Which it uplifting it really is. When I asked about my grade she said it can improve. But I still feel like crap. My cat won't eat his food?

I don't think he's sick at all, but my tabby cat, Charlie hasn't been eating much, if not any, of his cat food. He's 10 moths old, and still growing, so we feed him a 5.5 oz can of merrick in orted flavours every day, and he has unlimited access to Wellness Core dry food. We figured that the varying flavours would prevent his boredom, but I'm not sure if that's the problem. He always seems hungry, so I or my mother (I'm 16) will give him a Fancy Feast appetizer (which is really just meat) or a small jar of organic, all meat baby food in the morning. Am I jut not feeding him enough cat food? He's about 9 pounds, and 10 months old, like I said. Or is his just being greedy?

Help me with my Dad please!?

Okay, so my dad always promises to take me on trips, and he never ends up keeping his promises- he never even bought me a birthday present for my birthday a MONTH ago. He owns his own business and is involved with stocks and has a LOT of money, and he spends so much on his girlfriend, like he buys her 500$ Tiffany jewelry, and they go shopping almost every week- but when i ask him for a pair of 15$ sweatpants, and he says NO. He always breaks him promises, for example I bought a 500$ Nikon camera on sale, then he told me the camera i bought wasn't good and he said he was gonna give me his 1000$ Canon camera instead, so i returned the Nikon (which i bought on sale) and I bought something else instead because he told me he going to give me his old better camera, but then he He said "i dont remember that, i dont think your responsible enough sorry." 2000 chevy tracker is overheating!!!?

My 2000 chevy tracker temp gauge goes to red SOMETIMES when I am stopped in traffic and usually goes back to normal when I drive forward again. Other times when I'm stopped it stays in the normal range. It seems to be random and when I turn the heat on to try to bring the temp back to normal it doesn't seem to work. The only thing that brings it back to normal is moving forward. It hasn't overheated when I am driving (so far). I just bought this car about three days ago (not knowing it did this) and the radiator and water pump were supposedly already replaced. We replaced the thermostat last night and it might have been a bad one because I had no heat and it took forever to warm up. When it finally did and I drove it, the temp gauge went all the way to hot and stayed there. There is no white on the oil dipstick so I don't think I blew a headgasket (yet). Any ideas? Is this a common problem for this year and model car? If I fix it, is there a high probability that it is going to happen again? I need a dependable 4x4 for college so if this isn't going to be it, I need to get a new car ASAP.

89 F150 hard to start after driving for a while.?

300 in line 6 cyl. New top of the line battery, starts great when cold and after short trips. But after driving for 45 mins or more if I run into the store for a few minutes then come back out while it is still hot it lurches a couple times before starting. Any ideas? Starter is about 2 years old - a rebuilt from AutoZone. Otherwise engine runs great.

Arco gas vs others on mileage

I drive as a courier and most of the time, I try to load up with the cheapest gas which happens to be Arco. But compared to other gas (Mobil, Chevron, etc) they dont seem to get me more miles per gallon. Somehow the others provide better mile per gallon results.. Any info?

Went to McDonalds and bought a meal and a large coke. When I got in the car I placed the coke on the roof and then put the rest in the car, then I got in. I realized then that the drink was still on the roof, so I opened the window and felt around for the drink. I found it by knocking it over, splashing down my arm and shoulder and in through the window. I admit I did not immediately laugh at this but then who else could I blame but myself. Most of the time you will need a Phd in order to be able to directly work, and make a living of, such material. Museums are a good option if you want a more professional and less academic route. They only require a masters degree in Museum Studies or History/Art History, depending on what kind of institution they are. The work will be less hands-on with regards to the material you listed and will be more administrative in nature however.
